By Faith Wright, Travel Advisor
- DO eat a nice meal 2-3 hours before your visit
- DO order one white, one red and one food item to get a feel for the winery
- DO try to visit during a nice weather day to get the full indoor and outdoor experience
- DO ask when tours are available - it personalizes the winery and helps you learn all about the winemaking process
- DO let the server know what kinds of wine you like/dislike or if it’s your first experience with wine
- DO be mindful of your attire
- DO have fun!
- DON’T arrive on an empty or full stomach - both can lead to discomfort
- DON’T order a full glass or bottle without asking for a sample taste first
- DON’T order a full bottle unless you know your party can finish it or the winery confirmed they can recork it for you before you leave
- DON’T pick the grapes off the vine and be mindful of any “No walking through the vines” policies
- DON’T forget to hydrate - ping pong back and forth between water and wine
- DON’T forget to document your trip with a photo or two (or seven)
