Why I Stay At (and Recommend) B&Bs

By: Faith Wright, Travel Advisor

Whether you are looking to celebrate an engagement, anniversary, honeymoon, mini-moon or babymoon, a Bed & Breakfast is the perfect destination. From the charm and memorable factor to the “all-inclusive” feel you get from a major resort, Bed & Breakfast establishments have it all. Everything from the room where you will sleep at night to the delicious breakfast you will wake up to in the morning make these the perfect cozy and comfortable accommodations.

A major perk of Bed & Breakfast establishments is their size. Due to the limited number of rooms, there are a limited number of guests staying with you overnight and the staff-to-guest ratio is ideal. Speaking of staff, Bed & Breakfast owners and the crew that work in them are some of the friendliest, most helpful professionals when it comes to service and hospitality. Requests such as special occasions, dietary restrictions and flexible check-in and check-out times are easily communicated and accommodated. Travelers with anxiety, dietary needs or other specific requests will find that “B&Bs are just right for me!”

Another bonus - no two Bed & Breakfast places are alike. The uniqueness, magic and local flavor make each stay an experience that is unlike any other you have had or are able to reproduce again.

What to know before you go?

  1. Work with a travel advisor who can provide a list of reputable Bed & Breakfast establishments near, far or in your own backyard

  2. Bring water, beverages, snacks and a bag of entertainment such as games, cards, books and magazines

  3. Communicate needs with Bed & Breakfast staff via phone or email before checking-in

  4. Get ready for an enjoyable experience!
